About GradConnection
GradConnection is a graduate marketing website that is run in Sydney Australia by David Jenkins, Daniel Purchas and Mike Casey, who originally met on the graduate program at Westpac New Zealand. The goal of GradConnection is to open up new opportunities for graduates when they graduate from university and help them determine between the different graduate jobs and opportunities available in Australia.
GradConnection opened its doors in June 2008 and have recently expanded into the New Zealand Market with GradConnection NZ (GCNZ). Although a relatively young company GradConnection is now the most popular graduate employment site in Australia as far as students & graduates are concerned and our goal now is to grow the number of employers using the site to get their programs in front of these students.
About the GradConnection Site
On an average week day in March, our site receives over 3,000 visits which is similar to a well attended careers fair and in March 2010 we had over 80,000 visits to the website which when you consider there are only around 140,000 final year students in Australia means we are getting in touch with a large proportion of final year graduate job seekers.
The average employer on our site with 8 - 10 industry profiles received over 7,000 page views and an average time on page of over 1 minute and 30 seconds during the month of March 2010. This adds up to over 5 days of total read time about their graduate program in a month of being hosted on the site.
In January and February 2010 the GradConnection site had 64,668 visits before the 1st careers fair!
Compared to the cost of attending even one careers fair, once you’ve factored in giveaways and printed brochures, this can end up costing more than a year on the GradConnection website and that is also forgetting travel time and staff taking time out of the office and of course paying for the careers fair itself. Add all these up and you can be paying over $5,000 for one careers fair!
